Real People, Real Climate, Real Changes Exhibit
A traveling exhibit on Earth system science!
The Wynn Nature Center is hosting a traveling climate exhibit from the National Science Foundation's National Center for Atmospheric Research (NSF NCAR). Learn how our Earth is changing and how it’s affecting people’s lives around the country, around the world, and in Alaska. The exhibit will be a combination of informational panels and interactive elements displayed in the Wynn Nature Center Visitor Center. The exhibit will be on display from July 12th through August 30th, when it will get packed up and sent to its next stop on the tour of Alaska! Come interact with the exhibit, and get outside to explore the local impacts and efforts around climate change in our own backyards.
Preview of the exhibit from the UCAR Center for Science Education website.
These field trips are 2 hours long, with time to check out the exhibit, walk in the woods and observe impacts of spruce bark beetles, visit the fen that feeds into the Bridge Creek Watershed Protection area, and finally return to the Visitor Center to reflect and submit responses the the NCAR exhibit's prompts about personal actions against climate change.
